Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers are important to the success of the Hearing and Speech Center, and we seek to make every volunteer experience rewarding for the volunteer while bringing value to the center. We are always looking for skilled people to help around the center. With the exception of one-day work events and special projects, most volunteer positions require a minimum commitment starting at six months.
Types of Volunteer Activities:
- One-day Volunteer Groups
- Service as a member of our Board of Directors
- Volunteers for board committees (including fundraising, events, finance, human resources and building and grounds committees)
- Skilled volunteer pool – Sign up to help with projects as needed by contributing a skill or just some extra time (e.g. painting, graphic design, carpentry, envelope stuffing)
- Office volunteers to help with clerical tasks, translation, and hearing test assisting.
We also have limited volunteer opportunities in our program for students and prospective students in the field of communications. These positions are typically filled in the fall.
If you would like to be considered for a volunteer position, please fill out our volunteer application form and return it to development@hearingspeech.org, fax to 415-921-2243 or drop it off at the center.
