Dr Cornell Cheung
Director of Audiology
Dr. Cheung received his master’s degree in audiology from Wichita State University. He earned his doctor of audiology degree from Salus University. After completing his degree, Cheung took a position as a pediatric audiologist and program coordinator at the University of Virginia Health System. Then he joined the Children’s National Health System as a coordinator for hearing screening in newborns. He has also worked as an off-site clinical supervisor for the University of Kansas and Kansas State University, and as a lecturer at Gallaudet University. He joined UCSF in 2015. For his last adventure, Dr. Cheung was the Lead Audiologist at UCSF, collaborating with different multidisciplinary teams for individuals with complex medical history and mentoring clinicians in the areas of diagnostic audiology, electrophysiology of auditory pathway, and hearing amplification.
Throughout his career, Dr. Cheung has been committed to improving patients’ quality of life by offering personalized hearing solutions, including hearing aids, bone conduction hearing aids, assistive listening devices, and auditory rehabilitation. He is passionate about early intervention and works closely with families to support children with hearing loss, ensuring they reach their full communication potential.
A strong advocate for continuing education, Dr. Cheung had participated in research, professional conferences, and training programs to stay at the forefront of audiology advancements. His compassionate approach, coupled with extensive clinical expertise, has earned him the trust of countless patients and colleagues in the field.
